About the Event

Come off-trail with Natural Resources Director Lionel Chute and Naturalist Martha Mitchell for an exploration in the Sullivan County Spruce-Fir Natural Area. This amazing complex of wetlands includes forested hardwood and softwood swamps as well as open wetlands, providing a rich variety of habitats for many plant and animal species. Let's go "back woods" and see what we can find!

We will be meeting at the Marshall Pond parking area on Mica Mine Road in Unity.

The cost of the walk is $5 and participants must register in advance.

Group size is limited, so sign up early!

What to bring

Please wear rubber boots as most of our time will be in the wetlands. Binoculars, sun block and bug repellent are also recommended.

Youth Instructions

Families are welcome!
