About the Event
Town-owned conservation lands are for people – places to come together and build community, learn about stewardship of the natural world, and recreate alone or in groups. Town lands protect valuable natural resources – water and wildlife habitat. They can bring income to a town through responsible timber management. Balancing all these interests can be a challenge, but many town in New Hampshire have had great stories to share in how they manage their town forests. This workshop is perfect for Conservation Commissioners, Town Forest Committee Members, and other town volunteers, but anyone interested in learning about managing land for multiple interests are welcome to attend. Join us for this FREE field-based workshop to learn how the town of North Conway has managed their town forest.
What to bring
The entire workshop will be spent outdoors rain or shine. Please dress accordingly and bring water and snack if desired.
