About the Event

Join in this Earth Day - the 50th Anniversary! We will be cleaning up seven trailheads that provide access to the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson and Whitefield, NH. We will be picking up any litter that accumulated over the winter at these trailheads and scenic overlooks. We will have trash bags and provide a safety briefing. After a few hours of litter pick up we will have an optional hike to the heart of the Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge to a viewing platform overlooking Cherry Pond. We hope to see loons and a variety of marsh birds and early migrants. The round trip is three miles on a flat rail trail. This is a free event and Mother Nature will thank you for participating! We will meet at the scenic overlook at the junction of NH Route 115 and Sunset Paradise Road. For map purposes use Sunset Paradise Road in Jefferson, NH.

What to bring

Work clothing, leather gloves, rubber boots, and a litter grabber stick if you have one. Bring lunch, water, binoculars, and camera for the optional hike to the heart of the wildlife refuge.

Youth Instructions
