About the Event

Help learn to ID and then pull invasive buckthorn plants in Durham's Thompson Forest Preserve. This is part of a long-term project to remove buckthorn and other non-native, invasive plant species to allow native plants to recolonize the woodlands. Free of charge, just bring your enthusiasm! Event will be held unless there is heavy rain or thunderstorms. Parking is limited, so please carpool if possible.

Transportation available from UNH campus for Thurs. 10/21: Grab the free Nature Groupie shuttle at 1:30 p.m. from UNH fire station parking lot (51 College Road, Durham). Masks required to ride. Confirm your van slot by emailing Malin here.

What to bring

Work gloves (some will be available too), closed-toe shoes, snacks, water and bug repellent should you desire. Loppers are useful too.

Youth Instructions
