Volunteer in the Lakes Region

Published: Jul 9, 2018

Volunteer with Lakes Region Conservation Trust (LRCT) for Workday Wednesdays in the Lakes Region. Join the AmeriCorps Crew and Land and Stewardship Director, Dave Mallard to learn how to remove invasive species or do trail clearing.

LRCT has conserved over 25,000 acres in the Lakes Region in over 145 properties since its founding in 1979. All of the work to conserve and steward these lands and over 100 miles of trails would not be possible without the help of LRCT’s many  dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Be a #naturegroupie and volunteer this summer!

This summer there are several planned work days:

  • July 18
  • July 25
  • August 1
  • August 8

It's time for the first LRCT Wednesday Workday on July 18 at Tewksbury Brook in Center Sandwich, NH. LRCT's AmeriCorps members would love help on parts of the trail that need to be widened. The trail work includes heavy tree and sapling removal using hand saws, loppers, and some good old-fashioned hand pulling. If you cannot make it, do not worry because there are more Wednesday Workdays coming up! Stay tuned for locations to be announced. Directions to parking will be provided by Dave when you contact him. We look forward to working with you!
