Oct 28: Use Your Pipes to Move Pipes!

Published: Oct 24, 2017

The Nelson Conservation Commission is sponsoring a volunteer workday on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 8:30 to 1:30 at 580 acres of conserved lands on Osgood and Hurd Hills in Nelson, NH.  Pre-registration is requested (use the sign up button, below)

The land has an old water system which is no longer in use, including 3000 feet of black plastic pipe and 1500 feet of galvanized pipe. Volunteers are needed to help pull out, cut and dispose of the pipe. Join in the fun (and good exercise)! Many hands make light work and we need lots of willing hands for hauling, cutting and loading the pipe for disposal.

Volunteers ages 12 and over (with an adult) are welcome. Please bring your own gloves, water and snacks, and wear clothing appropriate for weather and outdoor terrain. If you have them, bring along hand or bow saws, and battery-powered Saws-Alls.
