About the Event

Join us for the 13th Annual Monadnock Trails Week! Ever wonder how that rock staircase miles up the trail came to be? The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and N.H. State Parks are hosting trail improvement projects all over the mountain. In this week-long event you'll gain a new perspective of hiking trails by helping to maintain them. No trail work experience necessary; conservation professionals will lead groups to complete different projects. Come ready to work and learn about tool use and best practices for trail building. Tools and safety gear provided. You can volunteer for a day or join us for the whole week!

Where to Meet: Each morning you can meet with Forest Society staff at the Monadnock Park HQ ( google maps ) for coffee, snacks, and a morning introduction. From here we will carpool to your workday trailhead location. Bathrooms available at Monadnock HQ!!!

What to bring

A backpack, water, snacks, lunch, gloves (if you have them), sunscreen, bug repellent, and appropriate gear for the weather (example: raincoat/hat). Closed-toe shoes or hiking boots required, and moisture-wicking clothes that can get dirty highly recommended. We will be spending the day at the project site which may be very far from your car, so bring everything with you!

Youth Instructions

Children 13-15 welcome with an adult guardian/supervisor; 16-17 year olds must get signed parental permission form/waiver.
